It looks like Mike Pettine will remain on NFC North.
The bears hired the former Packers defensive coordinator as a senior defensive assistant, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Media. It will serve as an experienced sounding board for new defensive coordinator Sean Desai.
Pettine was Green Bay’s defensive coordinator for 2018-2020, before coach Matt LaFleur arrived in a year. Pettine’s contract expired at the end of the 2020 season and has not been renewed.
Pettine was the head coach of the Browns for 2014-2015, accumulating a record of 10-22. He also served as a defensive coordinator for Jets and Bills.
