Last week, it was announced that the Eagles were not letting the Eagles interview special team coordinator Dave Fipp, but hiring a new coach in Philadelphia appears to have changed his heart towards Fipp.
Dave Birkett from Detroit Free Press reports that Lions are now expected to hire Fipp to lead special teams on coach Dan Campbell’s team. He joins assistant coach / running back coach Duce Staley as coaches who will make the move from Eagles to Lions this off season.
Fipp has been with the Eagles since 2013 and worked with Chip Kelly and Doug Pederson during that time. He was an assistant coach of special teams with the Dolphins in 2011 and 2012, when Campbell was the coach of the tight ends of the team.
Hiring Fipp would fill all three coordinator vacancies on the Lions team. Former Chargers coach Anthony Lynn will lead the attack and former Saints defender coach Aaron Glenn will be in charge of the other side.
