Report: Giants optimistic that they can solve something with Nate Solder

It looked like Nate Solder was on his way to his release from the Giants. But Dan Duggan of TheAthletic.com reports that the Giants are now have optimism, they can keep the offensive tackle with a revamped deal.

The sides are talking.

Solder, who will be 33 next month, opted out of 2020 in part because his son was battling cancer. Solder said recently that he wants to return in 2021.

The Giants, however, will not maintain it for a cost of $ 16.5 million, which includes $ 10 million of base salary.

The team summoned Andrew Thomas to the left in the first round of last year, and he started 15 games as a rookie.

Solder started 127 games in nine seasons.
