Duce Staley was interviewed for the position of head coach for the Eagles in 2016 before hiring Doug Pederson. He was interviewed for the position of offensive coordinator in 2018 before the Eagles hired Mike Groh. He was interviewed for the position of chief coach earlier this month, before the Eagles signed Nick Sirianni.

Staley is now asking something about the Eagles.

John Clark of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports that Staley asked the Eagles let you out of your contract then he can go somewhere else.

The Bears are interested in adding Staley to their team. Eagles can block Staley’s exit if it’s a sideways move.

Staley, 45, played for the Eagles from 1997-2003 and joined the team’s technical team in 2011. He served on the teams of Andy Reid, Chip Kelly and Pederson.

He worked alongside Bears coach Matt Nagy for two seasons.
