Houston’s new head coach, David Culley, got the word directly from the source: Deshaun Watson has no intention of playing for the Texans ever again.
Watson met Culley on Friday and told him he wants to be traded, reports Dan Graziano of ESPN.
Although Watson did not make this statement publicly, it has been clear for weeks that this is Watson’s position. He doesn’t want to play for the Texans and is looking for an exchange.
Texas owner Cal McNair insisted that Watson will remain a Texan, but sometime someone will have to blink. Texans could get a huge amount of players and draft choices if they were willing to negotiate with Watson, and with each new report that Watson remains buried, the chances of the team ending up giving up and giving Watson the exchange he wants increase .
