Report: Damontae Kazee signing with Cowboys after free agency visit to Lions

Detroit Lions showed sufficient interest in the safety of ex-Falcons, Damontae Kazee, who brought him on an official visit on Thursday. But if they hoped to hire him this year, they will have to look elsewhere for secondary help. According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, Kazee will sign with the Dallas Cowboys.

Kazee was an interesting free agent this year. He had some significant success in his young career, culminating in his 2018 season, in which he tied for the league leadership in interceptions. However, last year he tore the Achilles four games in the season, and the teams were still obviously concerned about the injury enough to want to bring him on a visit.

But Lions will not see what their future will be like in Detroit. Instead, they will have to find some much-needed security help elsewhere in the off-season. As of now, Lions have already lost Miles Killebrew to the free agency and don’t seem to be interested in bringing back Duron Harmon. That leaves only Tracy Walker, Will Harris and the special teams Godwin Igwebuike, Jalen Elliott and Bobby Price on the roster safely.
