Joe Whitt was not hired as a defensive coordinator for the Cowboys, but his job interview appears to have gone well.
Tom Pelissero of NFL Media reports that Whitt be the secondary coach of the team and defensive pass game coordinator.
Whitt played the same role with the Falcons last season, so he will move to Dallas with former Falcons coach Dan Quinn. Quinn was hired as the Cowboys’ defensive coordinator this week.
Whitt was also part of Mike McCarthy’s team in Green Bay from 2008-2018, so Quinn won’t be the only one of his former bosses to work with in 2021.
