When the NFL franchise brand window opens on Tuesday, there will be some big names on a list that can be marked by their respective teams before closing on March 9.
One such name is the Buccaneers wide receiver, Chris Godwin.
Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network is reporting that while both sides are working to secure a long-term deal, Tampa Bay is expected to identify Godwin and ensure he doesn’t go anywhere.
You can check the Rapoport report below.
Recently, Spotrac released its projections for the free agency period and who can land where. They listed Godwin as going to the Colts due to the imminent possibility of “someone paying dearly for his services”.
Tampa Bay also has to make decisions about several other important free agents, such as Shaquil Barrett, Lavonte David, Ndamukong Suh, Rob Gronkowski and Antonio Brown, among others. However, if the tag is applied to Godwin in the early part of the tag period, we can have a better idea of the direction the Bucs could take with their resignation efforts.
