Report: ‘A deal or 2’ is on the horizon for the Miami Heat

The Miami Heat entered the NBA’s 2020-21 season with high expectations, after defying the odds and reaching the NBA finals in Orlando, Florida.

Those high expectations have not been met so far this season, with the team sitting at 11-17 going into tonight’s game against the Sacramento Kings. The Heat’s fights sparked rumors that the team potentially rocked things ahead of the NBA’s March 25 negotiating deadline.

Some names have been linked to the Heat recently, with Rudy Gay and Andre Drummond arguably the most notable. Drummond may be heading towards a purchase with the Cleveland Cavaliers if negotiation cannot be done before next month’s deadline.

There seems to be no doubt that the current champions of the Eastern Conference will be active before the negotiation deadline, as it was clear that some changes are needed to straighten the ship in Miami.

The real question in the future is what the team is willing to give up in the negotiations and whether they will be serious pretenders to the best players available. The Miami season may depend on what can be done between now and March 25th.
