If Republicans do not retain control of the Senate after the second round of Tuesday’s election in Georgia, the political divide in the United States will shift from a “cold Civil War” to a “large-scale hot conflict”, Rep. Chip Roy , R -Texas, warned Monday.
“If we have a democratically controlled Senate, we will now basically be in a hot, large-scale conflict in this country, while now we are in a cold Civil War,” Roy told Tucker Carlson Tonight.
“We have a big problem where the American people, the normal people who work every day, hard-working Americans, are being trampled on by a system that is being manipulated against them,” said Roy.
The Republicans of Georgia Sens. David Perdue and Kelly Loeffler are facing fierce challenges from Democrats Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock, respectively. With polls showing fierce disputes in both competitions, the second round attracted hundreds of millions in spending. If Democrats win both races, they will control the Senate for at least the first two years of President-elect Joe Biden’s administration.

“This is what is at stake,” emphasized Roy. “People need to show up tomorrow to keep the line.”
Roy acknowledged that Republican voters in Peach State are “furious with the big government and Big Tech and the corporations that are trampling small businesses, [and] local governments that are closing small businesses and leaving them without work. “

At the same time, he added, “they have seen problems with elections that are reducing their faith in elections that are important for democracy and for our country.”
But, Roy reiterated, “if the American people in Georgia don’t show up and make sure the Senate is in the hands of the Republicans … they [Democrats] block it forever. “
