The WellMed hotline for COVID-19 vaccinations will reopen on Saturday to schedule an additional 9,000 appointments.
Additional doses were allocated to the two WellMed locations on the south and west sides by the Texas Department of Health Services. The hotline, which can be contacted by calling 833-968-1745, will operate from 8 am to 8 pm daily until the vacancies for the registration of residents who will receive the Modern vaccine are filled.

Appointments are necessary and will be available for the Community Center for the Elderly Elvira Cisneros and the Single Center for the Elderly Alicia Trevino Lopez.
Alamodome has also received an additional 9,000 doses and will begin scheduling appointments on an ongoing basis, so as not to overload the system. Approximately 2,000 slots for Monday will open on Friday, another 2,000 for Tuesday will open on Saturday and so on. The registration will be available online here or by calling 311 and selecting option 8.
Those currently eligible to receive the vaccine are health professionals, anyone aged 65 or over or adults aged 18 and over with chronic health conditions, according to state guidelines.
WellMed’s scheduling system is carried out entirely by phone. WellMedi asks the audience for patience and persistence to arrange a meeting. The hotline has received more than 7.9 million calls since January 9, for the first round of mass vaccinations at the site, according to a press release. Callers will know if the line is overloaded if they hear “The line you are trying to connect is out of service” or “All circuits are busy. Try to connect later”.
In Bexar County, 52,910 were partially vaccinated, which means that they received their first injection and are awaiting their second. Another 12,105 of San Antonio’s 1,541,803 completed the process and are fully vaccinated, according to the San Antonio Express-News vaccine tracker.
