Religious differences drive Bachelorette star Ivan Hall and Tayshia Adams apart

Ivan Hall was not chosen by “Bachelorette” star Tayshia Adams at the end of Tuesday and now he is opening up about why things ended up the way they ended.

Hall appeared on the “Off the Vine” podcast by former “Bachelorette” Kaitlyn Bristowe and explained why he and Adams, 30, broke up explaining to the “Dancing with the Stars” champion that Adams “only wants to date a Christian” and since so he is not “religious”, the relationship probably would not have been successful.

“In this short time, you have to have deep conversations about many different things and I was always trying to figure out when I could talk about certain things with Tayshia,” said Hall according to Page Six. “At Fantasy Suites, I knew it would be our only opportunity to have hours and hours of uninterrupted time.”

The 28-year-old aeronautical engineer revealed to Bristowe that he identifies himself as an agnostic and because of his views on the faith, many often confuse or exchange the term to mean that he is an atheist, which Hall said is not the case.

“The atheist is taking a strict stance that God does not exist and that is not what I believe in,” he said. Agnostic is strictly saying that I don’t know, basically. And this is how I feel. “

Hall and Adams got on well all season, but the concept of religion was raised when Hall said he and Adams started discussions about how to raise a potential family together.

“Whatever your religion, honestly, most of the world is not your religion, so everything gets a little crazy and then when we get into the details of things, maybe when she starts asking me about my beliefs – is there a paradise or is there a hell, that kind of thing – I’m going to be like, ‘Yes, my answer is going to be different than yours because I’m going to tell our kids, I don’t know what’s up,’ “he said.

Hall told former Bachelor student Caila Quinn on Tuesday that he is open to other religions and has dated women of various religions.

“In my past, I dated women who are Christians, I dated Muslim women, whatever, I am completely open to that,” Hall said on Thursday. “My main focus is the morals and values that you have, and that is what I try to have. I just try to have good morals and values, that is what is most important to me.”
