Release date and games suggested in a new rumor

A new rumor about the Nintendo Switch Pro surfaced online, days after the Nintendo Switch Pro controller apparently leaked. Unfortunately, the rumor is not overflowing with the most salient information, but it does indicate the console’s release date and provides insight into how it can handle older games. Rumors of an updated and more powerful Nintendo Switch have been spreading for more than a year, but recently rumors and reports have started to increase substantially, suggesting that we are approaching a revelation and a release.

The most recent is the path of one of the first sources to convey the word of the machine or, more specifically, the path of industry insider, NateDrake. According to the leaker, the console is scheduled to be announced this year and now the plan is to launch it later this year, however, a postponement until 2022 is certainly a possibility at this point.

Unfortunately, the leak does not provide any additional specifications as to when the console will be released, but it looks like it will be sometime during this holiday season, assuming it is not delayed until next year.

In addition to suggesting the release date, the leaker also claims that the console’s new SoC should provide a boost to older games in the form of an increase in resolution and fps. However, it appears that there may be exceptions to this rule, depending on how the game is coded.

Finally, NateDrake comments on the supposed DLSS support of the Nintendo Switch Pro, noting that they just heard that this support will only include docked mode. However, the insider is not ready to discard the portable DLSS, citing the lack of confirmation anyway.

Of course, all of this, like every little bit, must be viewed with caution. Not only is everything here 100 percent unofficial, but it is also subject to change. All of this can be completely accurate today, and tomorrow, everything can be outdated and incorrect information.

As expected, Nintendo did not comment on any of this unofficial information, nor did it comment directly on a single Nintendo Switch Pro rumor, report or leak. That said, if Nintendo breaks this “no comment” silence pattern, we will have sure to update the story accordingly.
