Relax: Bill’s Stefon Diggs about strife with JC Jackson of the Patriots

In the second quarter, Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen tried to connect with Stefon Diggs in a 31-yard touchdown pass.

It was one of Allen’s few passages that night that went off target while sailing through Diggs. Despite having nothing to do with the result of the move, New England Patriots cornerback JC Jackson started talking to Stefon Diggs in the postgame while indicating that he was incomplete.

Diggs didn’t like Jackson’s conversation and let the cornerback know about it by pointing a finger at the cornerback’s face.

So, what happened after the play? According to Diggs, Jackson told Bills’ No. 1 receiver not to test it in the field. Diggs did not want to go into detail about what he said in response to Jackson, but added that part of his message to the cornerback was to relax.

Jackson probably would have liked to have followed that advice before he complained about Buffalo’s No. 1 receiver. Diggs would catch nine balls for 145 yards and three touchdowns in Buffalo’s unbalanced 38-9 win with two of his scores coming against Jackson on the roof.

After the loss, Jackson was asked what he learned about Diggs’ coverage. He told the media that you have to be almost perfect to beat a receiver like Diggs.

Hopefully, for his own sake, Jackson also learned the importance of letting his game speak for him in the future. His initial outburst may have given Diggs some extra motivation on Monday night.
