Reggie Jackson has no remorse for Curt Schilling about the former MLB major being left out of the Baseball Hall of Fame.
Jackson told NJ.com in a story published on Thursday that he would tell Schilling that the only person to blame for not getting a ticket to Cooperstown is himself.
“I would say to Curt, ‘Look what you did. You left the Hall of Fame because of what you say and how you express yourself and how you think. ‘ Freedom of speech is great, but we cannot have a country with white supremacy, Nazis, Black Panthers, racist and anti-Semitic things. Jackson said he did not consider Schilling’s request to be removed from the Ballroom of Fame ballot of the Association of Baseball Writers of America legitimate. He said he made the former Arizona Diamondbacks pitcher “look stupid”.
Schilling received 70% of the vote – less than the 75% needed to enter the Hall of Fame. Many writers cited Schilling’s political comments, including his apparent support for the Capitol rebellion on January 6, in his post-baseball life, as the reason for keeping him out. Jackson said he doesn’t think Schilling would ever enter the Hall of Fame.
“Freedom of speech freed you from the Hall of Fame,” Jackson told NJ.com. “Freedom of speech took your luck out of Cooperstown, bro!”
Schilling is a fervent supporter of former President Donald Trump, but Jackson said it is not Schilling’s policy that is preventing him from appearing in court.

“I don’t care if Schilling is conservative or not,” said Jackson. “It has nothing to do with the fact that he is standing on the porch and shouting something to defame Jews or Muslims or any other ethnicity or gender. Curt, get out of here with this.”

Schilling told Clay Travis on the radio host’s “Outkick the Coverage” program on Wednesday that he believed it was his support for Trump that kept him out of the Hall of Fame.
“The hatred for President Trump and the conservatives is deep,” he said.
Schilling added: “You have 90% of white, liberal college men in a club of players of all races, some don’t even have 8th grade, but are earning $ 25 million a year. [The writers], who graduated from Harvard, are bitter. “
