The heartthrob of the hit Netflix series will join musical guest Bad Bunny on February 20.
Those fans who eagerly await the start of production on Season 2 of “Bridgerton” to get their dose of Regé-Jean Page can sleep a little better knowing that the British-Zimbabwean heartthrob will be seen as a guest host on “Saturday Night Live”. The beloved star – who plays Simon Basset, Duke of Hastings and one of the most desirable singles in London – will be accompanied by musical guest Bad Bunny on Saturday, February 20 at Studio 8H for the last entry in the 46th season of “SNL”.
Other hosts this year included John Krasinski, Dan Levy and Regina King, who presented the most recent episode. Despite the pandemic, “Saturday Night Live” continues to happen inside the studio and with a socially distant audience with limited capacity.
“Bridgerton”, created by Chris Van Dusen and produced by Shonda Rhimes, was quickly renewed for a second season after becoming one of the most broadcast series on Netflix of all time.
The buzz of fans around Page led to his name being thrown into the rumor about being a possible candidate for Daniel Craig’s succession as James Bond. Page added fuel to his own Bond speculation on December 16 social media post which said: “Regency, royalty. Shaken and shaken ”, a reference to how Bond likes his mixed martini.
Later, in January, during a virtual interview on “The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon”, Page minimized the rumors and said: “I think the internet thinks a lot of things, and this is one of the most pleasant ones, so I can please as much as that go. But Page also added that it may be because British actors tend to be praised when they say they should play Bond.
“I think there may be an element of cultural translation to be done here. As if you were a Brit and did something renowned that people considered well, then people start saying the word ‘B’, ”he said. “It’s like a badge of merit, like the badge of merit with the word ‘B’ …” I’m very, very happy to have the badge. I’m happy to be in the wonderful company of people who have the badge ”, in reference to Tom Hardy, Idris Elba and Tom Hiddleston, who were also in the race.
