Ree Drummond update after Husband, Front Crash Survival

It could have been worse, says Ree Drummond. The Oklahoma-based writer and TV personality, known as The pioneer woman accessed social media to update fans after her husband and nephew were driving two cars involved in a frontal accident.

Caleb Drummond, 21, is in critical condition at a hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma, while the condition of her husband, Ladd, is less clear. Fox 23 News in Tulsa reports that Ladd initially refused treatment at the site, but was later taken to the hospital via the Life Flight helicopter.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol reveals that Caleb was ejected and flew 21 meters.

“I want to thank everyone for their prayers for our family,” writes Ree Drummond on Facebook. “Caleb and Ladd are in the hospital, but we think they will be fine. As a family, we are thanking you today, knowing that things could have been much worse. Thank you all for your love and kindness. It means a lot.”

The accident happened on Wednesday (March 10), while the two men were driving fire trucks in response to a forest fire near the Drummond estate in Pawhuska, Oklahoma. The OHP reports that strong winds on a gravel road have decreased visibility. Ladd (57) was driving north, while Caleb was driving south. The collision is being investigated.

Drummond started out as a ranch food and lifestyle blogger with his Pioneer Woman website in 2006. She shared recipes, photos of dishes she had made, stories of the ranch and more. In 2011, she started starring in a Food Network series with the same name. There were 15 seasons of the show, filmed mainly in Pawhuska.
