The prognosis is good for the husband and nephew of Food Network star Ree Drummond, who was injured in a fire truck accident near the family farm in Oklahoma, the TV star said on Thursday.

“Caleb and Ladd are in the hospital, but we think they’ll both be fine,” said Drummond in a Facebook post.

“As a family, we are thanking you today, knowing that things could have been much worse. Thank you all for your love and kindness. It means a lot, ”added Drummond, who presents the cooking show“ The Pioneer Woman ”.

Drummond’s husband Ladd, 57, and nephew Caleb, 21, were in an accident while driving their own Himmat fire trucks on Wednesday to the site of forest fires that broke out in rural Oklahoma, according to People .

The two men were driving in opposite directions and collided head-on, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

None of the men were wearing seat belts, and Caleb was thrown about 21 meters from his vehicle.

Ree Drummond did not elaborate on conditions on Thursday.

The Highway Police said there was little visibility due to strong winds – which caused trucks to crash head-on along the gravel road.
