Georgia and South Carolina saw a decrease in cases of COVID-19 on Saturday.

The Georgia Department of Public Health reported 1,534 new cases, 75 less than on Friday. The new cases raise the state total to 339,384. There were 51 new deaths for 7,607.

Richmond County saw 15 new cases for 7,667 and Columbia County added 21 for 4,135. All remaining local counties in Georgia added three or less – McDuffie added three to 660, Screven added one to 441, Burke added one to 868, Jenkins saw two to 462 and Glascock added two to 42. All other counties remained the same – Jefferson in 831, Wilkes in 277, Lincoln in 221, Warren in 163 and Taliaferro in 25.

Columbia County added one death, bringing the total area of ​​Augusta to 450

No new cases were reported at Doctors Hospital, remaining at 334 and inpatients dropped from 14 to 12, said spokesman Kaden Jacobs.

The South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control reported 856 new cases, bringing the total to 156,655 and added 22 deaths out of 3,427. Aiken County’s cases increased by 15 to 4,367 cases and Edgefield added two to 843. No new deaths were reported for any of the counties to remain at 75 and 17, respectively.
