The Reddit status page currently shows a major disruption, and many of the The Vergethe team can’t load it. Loading the site results in a blank page.
The site appears to have crashed after GameStop’s stock soared 100% at the end of the negotiations. One of Reddit’s most controversial communities, r / WallStreetBets, defended the stock and was intensely active after the increase. It is currently unclear whether the two are related, but the subreddit appeared to be receiving very heavy traffic just before the site goes down.

The company tweeted that it identified the problem and is starting to recover. The site is now accessible for some Border personal, but not others.
