Filip Zadina is on the NHL COVID Protocol Absence List Today

To accompany him, Filip Zadina joins Sam Gagner, Robby Fabbri, Adam Erne and Jon Merrill on the Wings’ COVID Protocol list. Zadina traveled with the team to Chicago and that raises doubts as to whether the Wings will be able to keep enough people off the list to continue playing or whether we will start to see delays reaching us as well.
Detroit started their season against Carolina, who immediately lost Jordan Staal to the protocol between games 1 and 2 and have since postponed their games for tonight. The Dallas Stars will play their first season tonight, after similar problems.
This is a story in development and we will update with more information as it emerges.
As a reminder about the rules of the taxi squad, the team has until 5 pm (Brasilia time) to call a member of the taxi squad on match day. Givani Smith was called back from the team today, which gives Detroit 11 attackers available for Chicago.
