Detroit Red Wings striker Adam Erne took a heavy fall in Thursday night’s victory over Tampa Bay after dropping his gloves with Lightning striker Barclay Goodrow.
Goodrow checked Erne on the charts at the end of the second period with the Red Wings winning by two goals, which led Erne to lose his club after playing it on Goodrow’s skates.

Goodrow skated away, but not before trying to take Erne down.
The pair exchanged a few strokes, but Goodrow hit Erne’s jaw, knocking him to the ground.

Goodrow seemed to be holding Erne’s shirt, preventing his head from hitting the floor.
Both were penalized for fights and Erne was spotted by coaches in the locker room.
Hometown Wings held the Stanley Cup champions to a 6-4 win after losing four in a row, including the previous game in overtime against Lightning.

“Winning three of the four points against the Stanley Cup champions is a very good result for this group,” said defender Troy Stecher after scoring his first goal in his 20th game for last-placed Red Wings.
Detroit will resume its six-game homestand on Sunday against Carolina Hurricanes, who won seven straight to move up to first place in the Central Division.
