Recreating Mortal Kombat 11’s Fatalities on the smallest possible budget is something I never knew I wanted

Fatalities helped put Mortal Kombat on the map in the early 90s with its hidden entrances and brutal levels of violence that we certainly shouldn’t be imitating in real life, but what if we did it in the cheapest way possible?

Well, Nigerian videomaker Ayo the Creator recently took on such a task by setting up a ‘Zero Fatality Budget’ by recreating Jax’s Fatal Blow and Finisher for Mortal Kombat 11: Ultimate shot by shot with the level of props and editing that one would expect with that name – like a pringles can in place of the bomb .

Since you can’t exactly have metal arms without a budget, Jax standin has his arms painted white while punching his friend who spat out water instead of blood.

The aforementioned Pringles can comes to Fatality tied to the creator’s back with electrical tape that actually flashes before exploding with a stock fire effect that sends it flying for the final blow.

He still gets punched in the middle like a static image, although the guts and blood are replaced by what appears to be the contents of his last meal floating comically.

Co-creator of the series Ed Boon and other members of NetherRealm Studios have noticed and praised the creativity and fun nature of the video, so Ayo is planning to do more parodies in the future that I could certainly support.
