11:00 am: Early strike for India
India was rewarded for a good starting bowl by removing Joe Burns from the duck. Jasprit Bumrah was especially challenging with the new ball and found a fine advantage from Burns in his third over to make Boxing Day in a row for the opening. There is an encouraging pace and a weight on the field, with signs that India may make work difficult. Matthew Wade looks very confident, hitting some good attacks against Umesh Yadav.
Burns’ second consecutive duck on Boxing Day, except that this time he lasted 10 balls and then fished uncertainly on the ball that caught him. Credit to Bumrah lines and lengths so far #AusvInd

10:15 am: Deaneb Remebering
Here’s Dan Brettig from MCG on how one of Australia’s big names will be honored
Tributes to Dean Jones will assume many and varied dimensions during the Test. An entire wave of MCG seats was delivered to a large image of Jones, while viewers were encouraged to “zinc” in honor of Jones’ habit of doing the same when playing. Jones ‘family will be present at the MCG for the match, with a teatime tribute video scheduled to take place at 3:24 pm, recognizing the wide number of Jones’ green cap and also his highest first class score of 324 against South Australia in a day / night Sheffield Shield match at MCG in 1994-95.
10:05: Australia hits first
The coin fell in favor of Tim Paine and he was happy to hit first. Ajinkya’s wonder Rahane was happy to not have to make a decision. If there is any childhood, Jasprit Bumrah must be able to find it.
Here’s a little more about India’s other rookie, Mohammed Siraj
9h50: Pitch report
Channel Seven’s Damien Fleming says there is 11mm of grass in this field. This could interest fast players on both sides, but it is certainly a first day of baton. It is a clear, sunny and warm day. India needs to leave Adelaide’s batting performance behind as quickly as possible.
12:31 pm
‘Australia has obvious holes that India can still explore’
9:30 am: Boxing Day at G
A perfect day for the Boxing Day Test at the ‘G.

Welcome, everyone, to one of the iconic days on the cricket calendar: Boxing Day at MCG. For a long time it looked like it wouldn’t happen, so it’s great that the series has arrived and we will have 30,000 viewers. Just to recap where we are in this contest – India has to find a way to recover from being packaged to its lowest test score (36) in Adelaide, a week ago. We already know that they made four changes in that attempt – two of them reinforced with the absence of Virat Kohli and Mohammed Shami – but it will be a difficult task. Australia is still without David Warner and has appointed a team unchanged. It is not common for you to have both XIs confirmed 24 hours before the game. The bid is half an hour away.
India will have two newcomers: Shubman Gill and Mohammed Siraj. If you want to know a little more about Gill, an extremely talented scout, take a look at this article below.
