Kyle Larson won his first victory in the NASCAR Cup Series season on Sunday, moving away during the final stretch of the green flag at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Larson became the fourth different winner in four Cup Series races this season, leading a race with 103 of the 267 laps on the Pennzoil 400. The 5th Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet driver achieved his first victory on the 2.5-mile track in Nevada and the seventh of his Cup Series career.

The triumph – the first with team owner Rick Hendrick – also broke a period of drought that dates back to his most recent victory in October 2019 at the Dover International Speedway.

Brad Keselowski came in second with his No. 2 Team Penske Ford scored 3.156 seconds ago on the checkered flag. Kyle Busch came in third with Denny Hamlin fourth and Ryan Blaney closing the top five.

Keselowski and Larson shared the stage victories, with Larson securing his first stage victory since September 2019 in the second break.

Kevin Harvick started from Busch Pole, but lost the lead on lap 1 and fell further back after a friction with the fender and a flat tire near the midpoint of the first stage. He struggled with handling his No. 4 Ford Stewart-Haas Racing and finished 20th, one lap behind.

The current champion of the series Chase Elliott led three times in 22 laps, but his Chevrolet nº 9, Hendrick Motorsports, suffered damage when leaving Curve 2 with 99 laps remaining. Elliott recovered to 13th place.

The next race in the NASCAR Cup Series is the Instacart 500, scheduled for Sunday, March 14 (3:30 pm ET, FOX, MRN, SiriusXM) at the Phoenix Raceway.
