The gaming lifestyle company Razer may seem like an odd choice for coronavirus– targeted face mask protection, but based on your Hazel Project concept design for a N95classy face mask, brings some remarkable ideas for adding digital intelligence to the table.
For example, it has active ventilation and self-sterilization, with a separate case that can charge wirelessly and UV sterilizer. It uses replaceable filters and rechargeable fans on the pods, which is intended to make it a sustainable solution.
The extra Razer thing adds lighting. It’s not just for the good looking ones: the LEDs on the capsules indicate the charge status and there are also internal LEDs to make your mouth visible in low light conditions. And pods have built-in audio processing algorithms to make your voice much clearer and more natural.

The mask has silicone on the edges for a tight seal and adjustable ear straps, and you can adjust the amount of airflow for maximum comfort and protection. In addition, it comes in several sizes. And it is transparent for people to see the movement of your mouth.
Razer is not the first to reimagine the high-tech face mask – there are it is and it is and it is, for example – and it won’t be the last. But Razer brings its particular design aesthetic to the drawing board.
Will it ever come true? Who knows. And even if that happens, it probably wouldn’t be accessible to the people who need it most. Still, Razer’s heart (and brain) seems to be in the right place.
