Razer Blade 15 and Pro 17 receive RTX 30 series GPUs, fast QHD screens

Now let’s talk about these new screens: the standard Blade 15 can be equipped with a 144 Hz 1080p screen with a useful response time of 8 ms and you can also upgrade to a faster 3 ms Quad HD 165 Hz screen. The Blade 15 Advanced, however, offers 360Hz 1080p at 2ms, 60Hz 4K OLED at 1ms and a Quad HD screen of 240Hz. Notably, that QHD panel is the only one with NVIDIA G-SYNC and Advanced Optimus, which will help you smooth out the gameplay and intelligently switch between integrated and dedicated GPUs. The Blade Pro 17, on the other hand, has a 360Hz 1080p 17.3 inch screen, 165Hz Quad HD and a 120Hz 4K panel (another Razer innovation).

In terms of design, nothing has really changed for any of the Razer notebooks. They will still have the same stylish monoblock housings and a multitude of ports, including USB-A, USB-C 3.2, Thunderbolt, HDMI 2.1 and Gigabit Ethernet. Blade 15 Advanced and Blade Pro 17 also have an integrated SD card reader, something that is becoming increasingly rare today. These machines can also be equipped with up to 32 GB of DDR4 and 2,933 MHz of RAM.

Although these Razer Blades don’t look very different, the addition of QHD screens is a big change for gamers. So far, we’ve had to settle for modest 1080p panels just to get higher refresh rates, but now you can get speed and a slight increase in resolution. It is also much easier to achieve high frame rates at 1,440p compared to 4K, so you will be able to fill these screens with gaming action properly.

The Razer Blade 15 starts at $ 1,700, while the Blade Pro 17 starts at $ 2,300. Both systems will be available for pre-order on the Razer website on January 12, and you can find the Blade 15 in stores on January 26. The Blade 17 will hit stores at the end of the first quarter.
