Ray Fisher’s cyborg being written outside the DC movie

The saga of Ray Fisher and Warner Bros. is an ongoing boondoggle, totally confused, with the actor who played Cyborg in 2017’s doomed Justice League appeal, accusing director Joss Whedon (who assumed for Zack Snyder after a family tragedy) and several Warner Bros. executives something nefarious, usually on Twitter or in the press. And Fisher’s last salvo, following an executive profile Walter Hamada (and the announcement that your contract would be renewed), it was a tweet on December 30 that said: “Walter Hamada is the most dangerous type of facilitator. He lies, and the failed success of WB PR on September 4 sought to undermine the real issues of Justice League investigation. I will not participate in any production associated with it ”. Apparently, Warner Bros. took his self-retirement seriously, with The Wrap reporting that Fisher’s role in the future Snapshot film will be removed.

According to The Wrap, the role will not be reworked, which could lead to an audience shout like Poochie’s asking, “But where’s Cyborg?” (Probably not.) The Flash will be directed by this film-maker Andy Muschietti and written by Birds of prey scribe Christina Hodson; will feature a storyline borrowed from Flash point comic book series, involving multiple schedules, with both Michael Keaton and Ben Affleck appearing as Batman.

Part of what makes the whole Ray Fisher controversy so frustrating is that no real concrete claims have been raised, with only a few vague accusations about Whedon, Hamada and others promoting an unsafe and potentially dangerous workplace, but nothing to hang on to. Clearly, the cry of several other actors about the reinstatement of Snyder’s original version Justice League left the impression that they were not satisfied with the final film, but it is not clear whether they had unpleasant interactions in the same way or, again, what really happened. It is very confusing and we are sure that, one day, all this will be disclosed.

But for now, it seems that everyone is getting what they want. Warner Bros. (and its parent company Warner Media) seem very happy with what Hamada has done with the properties and are therefore maintaining it. And they know what they want from Snapshot movie. And Fisher doesn’t have to go through more emotional stress to work with people he doesn’t trust. Therefore, not forcing you (contractually or otherwise) to appear in The Flash it looks wise.

You can see Fisher’s first (and only) performance as Cyborg in the new Snyder version of more than 4 hours Justice League starting in March on HBO Max.
