The Ravens announced the hiring of Rob Ryan and Anthony Weaver for their defense team. Ryan will serve as an internal linebacker coach and Weaver as a racing game coordinator / defensive line coach.

In a press release, coach John Harbaugh said the team continues to interview candidates for the defensive coach position.

“Rob is a proven NFL coach who brings vast experience to the Ravens,” said Harbaugh in a statement. “In addition to his passion for the game, he has an excellent ability to connect and teach players.

“Anthony is highly regarded throughout the NFL. As a former Ravens’ choice who made significant contributions while playing here, he understands the culture of our organization and the standard of defense in Baltimore. “

Ryan, 58, has been a veteran NFL coach for 20 years who most recently served in the same role for the Washington Football Team in 2019.

Weaver enters his 12th season as a coach, including his 10th in the NFL. He played seven seasons in the NFL, including his first four seasons in Baltimore. Weaver started training in 2010.

Weaver served as defensive coordinator / defensive line coach for Texans in 2020.
