Raptors 100, Knicks 83: Scenes from Hell’s Three Point Shooting Regression

The New York Knicks failed to hit a basketball shot to save their lives on Thursday night, which is a good summary of the year 2020, I suppose. To their credit, they stayed close to the Toronto Raptors for much of the game, but it’s hard to win a game when you kick 3-36 past the hoop.

You read that right: 3-36. At one point, they missed 20 attempts at three consecutive points. Raptors may not be as good as in recent years, but they are good enough to win that type of shot. They left late when the Knicks gave up on the rope.

Austin Rivers played his first game of the season and did some cool things off the bench, losing 7 points and 5 assists.

Julius Randle played decently well, considering that no one could shoot, losing 15 points, 10 rebounds and 5 coins. He left the game earlier, however, after being kicked in the thigh.

Please get well soon, Julius. Otherwise, this was a night – and a year – to forget. Benny will do the recap tomorrow morning. Happy New Year.
