Representatives of the hip-hop star did not immediately respond to Fox News’s request on Saturday.

Stars Missy Elliot and Viola Davis reacted to the news on social media shortly after the reports surfaced. “Prayers for DMX and his family,” wrote Elliot. Davis also tweeted that she was “praying for DMX”.

The rapper “Party Up (Up in Here)” is known to have previously fought substance abuse. The report states that he completed rehabilitation for the last time in 2019, after serving a one-year prison sentence for tax evasion. At the time, the rapper claimed that the rehabilitation period was not the result of a relapse, but a preventive measure.
