Update 2 [Sat 2nd Jan, 2021 04:45 GMT]: The featured early edition of Edge Hollow Knight: Song of Silk is now available.

A post on ResetEra shared some of the highlights. Unfortunately, there is no release date yet, so stay tuned for that in the future. There are some other interesting details there, however.

– Team Cherry’s next game will not be related to Hollow Knight
– Team Cherry as Castlevania Lords of Shadow!
– Hornet will have the ability to perform tasks for NPCs, keep track of the tasks you have completed through bulletin boards in Pharloom.
– Does not replace the organic mission lines of the first Hollow Knight.
– Instead of rescuing Grub’s from pots, now you save fleas, which get into small scraps.
– Hornet crests are fully customizable and can be easily changed to reflect your playing style.
– Try to create a game accessible to new players, but also corresponding to the difficulty of the original game.
– ‘Tricks’ such as Sting Shards, Pimpillo Bombs, straight pins, can be created in banks from shards collected from defeated enemies.
– The objective of the game is to climb up to the Citadel, but there will be ‘many other lands’
– Hollow Knight composer Christopher Larkin returns
– Start the game having lost many of your powers
– PC and Switch only at launch, TBA release date.

The Cherry team also noted how Hornet is generally more acrobatic (via GamesRadar):

“Hornet can travel much faster, she can jump higher, she can spot or climb over ledges, she is generally more acrobatic. Therefore, the caves around her need to expand to accommodate her height.

And the enemies in the new entrance are more sophisticated than those of Hollow Knight:

“The characters in this game are one step further, where it doesn’t seem right for them to be that simple. Like, they have to have surprising ways to chase, accompany or avoid their attacks.”

Update [Thu 24th Dec, 2020]: The prediction was correct!

Original Story [Mon 14th Dec, 2020 04:15 GMT]: O Edge Online Twitter Account recently shared a tweet about the next issue of your magazine (on December 31) and sent Hollow Knight fans in an absolute frenzy.

As you can see in the reply tweet below – the image shown is believed to be a close-up of the Hornet. This character, in case you didn’t know, is the star of the next Hollow Knight sequence, Hollow Knight: Song of Silk.

Edge editor Jen Simpkins added to that, telling his followers to “Git … hype“for this” worldwide exclusive “- what Hollow Knight fans noticed, is an interesting choice of words. She also responded to a series of tweets referencing Hornet and Hollow Knight, and even told some followers that they are”very close

The last time Team Cherry provided an update on Silksong was earlier this year, when it said the game would be released when it was ready. Do you think Hollow Knight fans are on the right track? Tell us below.
