Random: Cheap NES LEGO Set clones feature Duck Hunt, Contra and Super Mario Bros

Video game

Remember that beautiful LEGO set that came out last year, with a delightfully retro TV and an NES console playing Super Mario Bros.? Yes, the one that cost more than £ 200. Yes, the one that none of us can really provide. Well, it seems that some entrepreneurial companies have taken on the responsibility of cloning the set for a much cheaper price, with … varying levels of success.

As Takashi S. Omoto points out in his tweet, the sets are “charming, though unpleasant”, and one of the sets still comes with extra “cartridges” that “play” different games, ranging from Duck Hunt for the infamous Super Mario Bros. Bowser fight.

But a fair warning: these will probably not work with the LEGO Super Mario figurine, as with the real deal. Also, Nintendo will probably find you and scold you. Don’t say we didn’t warn you.
