Randolph man accused of guns and drugs in Brockton | Press release

BROCKTON, MA – Just before 5:30 pm on February 17, two officers assigned to the Troop D Community Action Team were on patrol in Brockton. While traveling on Westgate Drive, they observed a white Nissan SUV with the operator holding and looking at a cell phone. They positioned themselves behind the vehicle, then activated the cruiser’s blue lights and stopped it when it entered Route 24 heading north.

After the vehicle stopped, police officers approached and identified the operator as Randolph’s ANTENOR RUDDY, 34. They applied for RUDDY’s license and registration and then returned to the cruiser to conduct an electronic investigation of their information. The survey results revealed that RUDDY’s driver’s license has been suspended. As he was the sole occupant of the vehicle, the police requested a tow truck to remove it from the scene. RUDDY was removed and handcuffed while the police took an inventory of the vehicle’s contents prior to its removal.

During the inventory, police officers, one of whom is trained in vehicle skins by the DEA and the other participated in Proactive Criminal Execution Training, noticed a loose, ajar frame around the cup holder / center lever area. A closer inspection of this area revealed a loaded Ruger .380 pistol hidden along with several plastic bags containing a large amount of a white substance suspected of being cocaine. After a subsequent search of the vehicle, police located additional drug paraphernalia. The total amount of narcotics seized was 19 grams of a substance suspected of being crack and 38 grams of a substance suspected of being powdered cocaine.

RUDDY was placed in the back of a vehicle and transported to the State Police-Middleboro for reservation. He was scheduled for prosecution at Brockton District Court on the following charges:

1. Cocaine trafficking;
