Rams waiting for Aaron Donald and Cooper Kupp to play against Packers

The Green Bay Packers are unlikely to be injured when the Los Angeles Rams arrive at Lambeau Field for the NFC Divisional Round playoff game on Saturday.

Sean McVay, Rams coach said sunday he expects striker Aaron Donald and wide receiver Cooper Kupp to play the Packers despite new injuries.

The Rams defeated the Seattle Seahawks on Saturday, but Donald (ribs) and Kupp (knee) left the game and did not return. McVay classified both as day-to-day and expressed confidence in their ability to play against the Packers in the next round of the playoffs.

Donald hurt his ribs when facing Russell Wilson in the second half. Kupp limped off at the end of a move at the end of the fourth period.

Donald was twice the NFL’s Defense Player of the Year and the most disturbing line of defense player in the game. A first-team All-Pro for the sixth consecutive season, Donald produced 13.5 sacks, 27 hitting center backs and four forced fumbles in 16 games in 2020.

Kupp, the main receiver of the Rams, managed 92 passes for 974 yards and three touchdowns this season.

Rams has yet to decide who will play as a defender on Saturday. McVay must choose between Jared Goff, who is suffering from a thumb injury, and John Wolford, who was knocked out in Saturday’s victory with a stinger. Although the quarterback’s situation seems risky, the Rams would gain a big boost by going to Lambeau Field if Donald and Kupp could play.

It is unclear how the elements in Green Bay – including the cold – would affect the situation for Rams’ wounded.

The Rams will not release an injury report until the end of this week. Official injury designations for the game will not be available until Friday.
