Rainbow Six Siege leads the way in a multiplayer game in the new Amazon Studio

A group of central members of the Rainbow Six Siege team – including its former creative director – will lead a new Amazon Games studio, working on an “online AAA multiplayer title based on a new IP”. Founding members of the unnamed studio include Luc Bouchard, Xavier Marquis, Alexandre Remy and Romain Rimokh, all working to make Rainbow Six Siege a reality. In Siege, Bouchard was the production director, Marquis was the creative director, Marquis was the brand director and Rimokh was the narrative director, making this a series of important roles, both in creative and technical development.

The new game is described only as “an online multiplayer title based on the new IP”, and no release date or other details were provided at the time of writing. Amazon points out that the game is just one of the “several unannounced projects currently in development” in its studios. The new developer is based in Montreal and will complement Amazon’s other development studios in Seattle, Orange County and San Diego. Amazon Games Vice President Christoph Hartmann pointed to the Montreal team’s talent for “building deep, community-focused multiplayer experiences”, which will reinforce Amazon’s vision of creating “the best online games in the category”.

“Based on 8 years of experience with Siege, we are excited to start with a blank page and the creative freedom to create a completely unique experience in the multiplayer space,” said Xavier Marquis, Creative Director at Amazon’s Montreal studio. discussion, we felt a real connection with the people at Amazon Games, their approach to games and the sheer amount of knowledge, experience and technology available there. It’s very humiliating and we couldn’t be more excited to start a studio with them. “

Current Amazon CEO Andy Jassy recently pledged his support for the company’s gaming division. This renewed support comes after reports of infighting at Amazon Game Studios.
