Rainbow Six quarantine apparently renamed to Ubisoft

Over the past year, many have pointed out that Ubisoft’s next release of Rainbow Six Quarantine it has become a rather ironic title due to the number of people around the world who have started to be quarantined due to the pandemic. Well, for one reason or another, Ubisoft doesn’t seem to have been so enthusiastic about that name and is apparently going to change it soon.

In a new leak that occurred on the PlayStation Store, Ubisoft released a new pre-release patch for Rainbow Six Quarantine which apparently changes the name entirely. Moving on, Quarantine was eliminated with the new name being Rainbow Six Parasite. After researching further, new images containing the main game art and the new logo were also found in this update.

While a name changes to Parasite it’s quite interesting in itself, what’s more intriguing is that Ubisoft is even releasing a pre-release update like this. Even though we shouldn’t jump to conclusions, the fact that Ubisoft is even preparing an “initial release patch” for Rainbow Six Parasite it seems to tell us that we could learn a lot more about the game soon.

At this point, a release date for Parasite was not provided by Ubisoft, but the publisher recently gave us a better window on when to wait. As mentioned in a recent earnings call, Ubisoft said the game will be released sometime before the end of the second quarter of next fiscal year. This means that, at the latest, it will arrive before the end of September on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and PC.

Assuming this name changes to Rainbow Six Parasite it’s official, we should hear confirmation from Ubisoft soon. If this happens, we will update it in our game coverage center right here.

So how do you feel about Rainbow Six Parasite like a name? You preferred Quarantine instead of? Let me know what you think in the comments or on Twitter at @ MooreMan12.
