Ragnarok voted the most early launch of 2021, according to IMDB poll

God of War: Ragnarok was officially named as the most anticipated release of 2021 by fans on IMDB.

The coming years are expected to be filled with major launches to make up for last year’s delays – providing the world with a return to normal at some point. Among this plate of new titles is God of War: Ragnarok, from Santa Monica Studio, which was recently voted the most anticipated video game of 2021.

Organized by IMDB, the survey placed 35 future games between them and left it to the public to declare the winner. Now that the results have been released, we can see that the next edition of the Kratos saga led the vote with 320 votes. To put this in perspective, Horizon: Forbidden West came in second with 180 votes, while Far Cry 6 came in third with 106. Other titles that were up for grabs included Hogwarts Legacy, Gotham Knights and The Lord of the Rings: Gollum – everyone entered the top ten.

Ragnarok was announced last September and should continue the story of Kratos and Atreus after that brutal cliffhanger at the end of God of War. Rumor has it that the next chapter in Sony in the series may skip the launch of the PS4 to focus on a next generation experience. There were also several rumors about Roger Clark’s potential involvement in Ragnarok, most of which pegged the Red Dead actor Redemption 2 as the voice of Thor. Speculations aside, at least we know that the sequence will aim to impress, which is why we also present everything we expect from the story.

Ragnarok’s development team welcomed some interesting new players into the mix, including the recent arrival of audio designer The Last of Us Part 2, Beau Anthony Jiminez. The former Naughty Dog employee also worked on Uncharted: The Lost Legacy and Ori and the Blind Forest, and we are thrilled to see his talent being used for Ragnarok. Alanah Pearce also joined the team as a writer in November.

Ragnarok was teased during Sony’s PS5 showcase last year with a brief reveal of the game’s logo. The teaser had the words “Ragnarok is coming”, and the logo was covered with runes – which the fans quickly translated.
