Old one single Rachel Lindsay deactivated her Instagram account after receiving “all kinds of rude and hateful things” from certain members of Bachelor Nation, following Chris Harrison’s February 13 announcement that she was resigning from the presenter The bachelor and The maiden. Harrison had defended the racist postings of the past and the behavior of the current ones Bachelor competitor Rachel Kirkconnell in an interview with Lindsay for Extra, and Lindsay has since said of the interview that “I don’t feel bad because the way he’s feeling has been revealed.” Lindsay also criticized Kirkconnell’s subsequent attempts at anti-racist efforts and apologies as “boring”.
On February 26, Lindsay’s University education podcast co-host Van Lathan posted a video explaining that Lindsay deactivated her Instagram that day “because this is how she is getting hateful Bachelor fans, who are sending spam with all kinds of rude and hateful things. ”Lathan continues his statement of support, saying,“ Rachel is not responsible for Chris Harrison, a 49-year-old man who cannot read the room at present, 2,021 times.
