It wasn’t pretty for almost 40 minutes, but the Milwaukee Bucks ended up strong in the final stretch to take down the Orlando Magic 121-99.
NBA.com Box Score
For the second consecutive game, the Milwaukee Bucks did not look as sharp as they did in previous seasons, when they defeated inferior opponents. Against last year’s Playoff opponent, they took advantage of the early turns and often jumped to a 63-54 lead in the interval. Nikola Vucevic was doing his usual thing picking and opening and punching triples in Bucks’ face, but Milwaukee changed to more changes in that action in the second half.
Unfortunately, that malleability didn’t translate into Bud’s squad making Orlando poof. Instead, the Magic remained while Giannis Antetokounmpo struggled with problems and Khris Middleton could not find his direct hit. Finally, just a few minutes after the fourth period, the Bucks’ three points began to fall during a 22-2 scoring streak that Magic failed to overcome.

Stat that stood out
53-24 bank score advantage. It has been an experience of ups and downs for the renewed Milwaukee substitute team this season, but on a night when the starters were not hitting the lights, this team needed every ounce of additional score they could muster. Bobby Portis in particular found the back of the net beyond the hoop, in the paint and in the midfield to finish with 20 points in 9-13 shots.
