Questlove it says Amy Poehler and Tina Fey calling the Golden Globe organization for the lack of diversity is not much more than a performance … at least for now.
We caught the lead singer of the band “The Tonight Show” going to work on Monday at NBC Studios in New York and asked about Amy and Tina taking pictures at the Hollywood Foreign Press Association for NOT having black members during the awards show.
It certainly seemed strange for the show’s own hosts, and other celebrities, to openly raise the issue during the broadcast – but Quest, for example, was not impressed.

He called the comments purely “performative” and placed them directly on the HFPA to really add black members. Until then, he’s basically saying … spare me the small talk.
There has been a lot of reaction against HFPA, whose members vote for the Golden Globes. As you may have heard … it has 87 members, and none are black.
It doesn’t look like Questlove is holding his breath for that to happen, but like many others, he wants to see a real change ahead of next year’s Globe nominations.
