Question answered: Jen Psaki declares pineapple on ‘disgusting’ pizza

White House press secretary Jen Psaki recorded a video on Twitter on Tuesday to address some of the biggest questions she receives on the social media platform, including the much-debated question of whether pineapple belongs to pizza.

“We would like to hear your opinion on a very controversial and controversial issue … pineapple on pizza?” asked a Twitter user whose identity was obscured by the White House.

“This is disgusting,” said Psaki in response. “I am not in favor of this. I am in favor of green peppers and onions,” she added.

“But everyone has different points of view,” continued Psaki. Adding: “We are here to accept everyone’s pizza views”.

The question was a light moment in a segment of questions and answers that the press secretary started to host, largely around questions from the general public about the coronavirus.

Psaki also took the opportunity to detail what is included in the $ 1.9 trillion American Rescue Plan and explained that the package largely includes funding for three major areas of importance, including vaccine development and distribution, reopening of schools and aid to “Americans who need help for the majority.”

The White House official also addressed issues related to stimulus checks, vaccines and small businesses.

Psaki ended the segment with a question that was not answered by Washington officials: “Will we ever get back to normal?”

“This is the question my neighbors ask me, my family asks me all the time – that is certainly our hope,” she said.

“The president’s focus is to reopen schools, carry vaccines in people’s arms, make sure we’re providing more public information on what people can do to stay safe – and we’ve heard health experts and doctors here – and they say it’s going to take some time, “he concluded.
