Queen’s News: Queen plans to return to Buckingham Palace for Royal family celebrations | News

Queen: Expert discusses future of Commonwealth

The queen is determined to host the Trooping the Color parade in all its splendor in London – if the pandemic allows, a source said. With June defined as a very important month for the royal family, the monarch wants to reunite her family at Buckingham Palace to celebrate crucial milestones with the impressive military parade.

And, in the wake of the support the Army is providing during the coronavirus pandemic, it also wants to give all the honors to the Armed Forces it leads.

A senior royal adviser told The Sunday Times: “The current plan is for the Queen’s birthday parade to be held in London normally, with the acceptance that it may need to be adapted or reduced depending on the guidelines in force at the time. .

“But the aspiration and the final desire is to make it happen.”

No final decision has yet been made and the scale of the parade will be confirmed only in the spring, according to government guidelines and the number of coronavirus infections in the UK.

This year’s Trooping the Color, the Queen’s official birthday, will take place on June 12 – just two days after Prince Philip turns 100.

The parade, royal advisers told the newspaper, will be official and “a family occasion”.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry can also attend this moving event alongside other members of the Royal Family, as the parade has traditionally been attended by senior and non-working royalty members.

The Sussexes last appeared at an official royal ceremony in England in mid-March last year, when they attended the Community Day Service.

This event also marked their last public royal engagement, with the couple stepping back as a member of royalty working full time just a few days later.

Prince Harry and Meghan had already been advised to return to the UK to celebrate the Duke of Edinburgh’s 100th birthday.

Real commentator Katie Nicholl said she expects the Sussex to participate in three major real events this year.

She said: “The long-awaited tribute to the statue to Princess Diana will be inaugurated in Kensington Palace Gardens, on her 60th birthday.

“And it is Harry’s intention, and also Meghan’s, to be here in the UK for this debut.

“It may be the first time that we have seen the brothers together, but I think we will probably see them together in the spring, around the celebrations of the birthday of the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh.

“If Covid’s travel plans allow.”

Prince Harry and Prince William issued a rare joint statement last August announcing the inauguration of a long-awaited statue of Princess Diana at Kensington Palace.

The ceremony will take place on what would have been the late Princess of Wales’ 60th birthday – July 1.

Speculation about the Queen’s parade in 2021 Trooping the Color comes after it was announced that there would be no vote to obtain tickets to the event.

The Queen’s Birthday Parade website states: “For the sake of fairness, we will not be voting for 2021, but we will invite the winners of the 2020 vote who completed their reservations but were unable to attend due to the cancellation of events.

“We hope to return to a public vote for Trooping the Color 2022.”

The Queen celebrated her official birthday last year with a simplified and socially distant ceremony taking place at Windsor Castle.

During the parade, the monarch sat on the Quadrangle at his castle in Berkshire in the company of only two senior assistants.

Despite the changes imposed to make the ceremony safe for Covid, the Queen seemed delighted to see a small group of Welsh Guard soldiers from the 1st Battalion perform.

A Trooping the Color parade throughout the site traditionally features about 1,400 soldiers, 200 horses and 400 musicians in the Mounted Guard Parade.
