Queen’s Gambit-inspired hotel room available for limited time booking

Now you can sleep like Beth Harmon, with chess pieces on the ceiling and everything.

Kentucky’s 21c Museum Hotel has partnered with Lexington city tour group VisitLEX and creative agency CORNETT to create a hotel room inspired by the popular Netflix series “The Queen’s Gambit”.

The fourth Harmon – named after the main character of the series, Beth Harmon – was designed in the same style of the 1960s presented at the show, complete with custom chess-themed wallpaper and vintage furniture.

The room also has a chess game made locally in the room, which can be purchased, and a complimentary “Lex Liquors” bag, which can be seen in “The Queen’s Gambit”.

The centerpiece of the room is a large game of chess installed above the bed, which is “an artistic recreation of Beth Harmon’s drug-induced hallucinations,” says the VisitLEX website.

“The Queen’s Gambit”, based on the 1983 novel of the same name by Walter Tevis, takes place mainly in Lexington, which is why VisitLex, 21c Museum Hotel and CORNETT decided to design The Harmon Room.
