Queen Elizabeth ‘frustrated’ by Prince Charles, closer to Prince André: expert

Queen Elizabeth is “frustrated” and “intrigued” by her eldest son, Prince Charles – and is most attracted to her scandal-scarred younger brother, Prince Andrew, says a royal expert in a documentary that will airing in the UK on Sunday night.

On Britain’s Channel 4 “Queen Elizabeth: Love, Honor and Crown”, author Clive Irving argues that the 94-year-old monarch “never really understood” Charles, the heir to the UK throne, reported the Daily Mail. .

“To this day, she is more openly affectionate to Andrew and more forgiving to Andrew than to Charles,” says Irving, author of the new biography “The Last Queen”.

This despite allegations of sexual abuse against Andrew, 61, linked to his friendship with the late pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

Andrew, who denied the charges, relinquished his royal duties in November 2019 after his interview with the BBC about his relationship with the convicted sex offender.

Ingrid Seward, editor-in-chief of Majesty magazine, describes the Duke of York as “loud, presumptuous” but also “very charming, whenever he wants” in the documentary, the Mail reported.

“He can be arrogant and rude; he has some characteristics of his own father,” said Prince Philip, Seward.

Charles, 74, is “the opposite of the younger brother, Andrew,” according to Seward.

Irving believes that Charles “will never live up to the queen’s sense of duty.”

Her eldest son, Prince William, however, is the only member of the royal family who appreciates the queen’s “very dedicated sense of duty,” according to Irving.

“All those around the queen are never up to that at any time. His own family is not up to that. Charles is never up to that,” said Irving.

The documentary is heralded as an “in-depth examination” of various conflicts within the family during Elizabeth’s long reign.
