Queen Elizabeth ‘delighted’ with two new corgi puppies: report

It’s good to be a queen – but maybe it’s even better to be your dog.

Queen Elizabeth welcomed two new dogs to the royal house. The news comes as the queen’s husband, Prince Philip, recovers after heart surgery, and before Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s hard-hitting interview with Oprah Winfrey about their struggles within “The Firm”, which airs on Sunday.

“The Queen is delighted. It is unthinkable that the Queen had no corgis,” a source told The Sun. “Both are supposed to bring a lot of noise and energy to the castle while Philip is in the hospital.”

Corgis were reportedly offered to the 94-year-old monarch, and are believed to be the first corgis that did not descend from Susan, the corgi she received on her 18th birthday in 1944.

The family continued to breed dogs of Susan’s lineage, with Elizabeth owning at least 30 Pembroke Welsh corgis descended from her over the years. Whisper, the last of the royal line, passed away in October 2018.
