Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip receive COVID-19 vaccine

Royal weapons were launched on Saturday at Windsor Castle.

Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip rolled up their sleeves for the COVID-19 vaccination, reported the Sun, citing Buckingham Palace.

The 94-year-old monarch and the Duke of Edinburgh, who will turn 100 in June, received their punishments from the doctor of the royal house.

“I am very happy that Her Majesty the Queen and Her Royal Highness the Duke of Edinburgh have received their vaccine COVID. We are defeating this virus blow by blow ”, tweeted Secretary of Health Matt Hancock.

Both royals are at the top of Britain’s list of priorities because they are over 80 years old. Buckingham Palace did not specify which vaccine they received – Oxford AstraZeneca or Pfizer-BioNTech.

The announcement surprised the British because aides repeatedly described the couple’s decision about when to be vaccinated as a “private matter”, Sun reported.

Queen Elizabeth, however, wanted to share the news to encourage her subjects to obtain her photos and to silence any fears about the security of the photos.

So far, 1.5 million Britons have been vaccinated. The UK recorded almost 3 million cases and about 80,000 deaths.
