The queen is said to be “troubled” by her husband, Prince Philip’s “health problem” while he remains in the hospital.
The Queen has had some difficult times in recent weeks, along with the announcement of some wonderful news for the family. Princess Eugenie’s baby was born on February 9, making the monarch a proud great-grandmother of nine children. This was soon followed by the emotional revelation that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are expecting baby number two. Although these two kind news about the family “enchanted” the queen, they come at a difficult time for the royal family.
It was confirmed by Buckingham Palace that the Queen’s husband, the Duke of Edinburgh, was taken to King Edward VII hospital in London on Tuesday, February 16. It has been declared that this is a “precautionary measure” after “feeling bad”. He is not considered greedy and his admission was not treated as an emergency. It has since been reported that he is “comfortable and responding to treatment”.
Three days after Prince Philip was admitted to the hospital, his grandson, Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan, confirmed that they would not be returning as royalty. After stepping back as senior members of the Royal Family last year, it is understood that they received a one-year review of their decision, with the deadline reportedly in March.
More from women and home:
The couple’s confirmation comes before this deadline and the Queen is believed to be deciding who will take on the royal patrons of Prince Harry and Meghan.
According to Us Weekly, a source said exclusively: “It has been a difficult few weeks for the queen, for sure.”
“The situation with Harry and Meghan has been challenging and, moreover, she is disturbed by her beloved husband’s health problem.”
“The queen had a few moments of crying mixed with anger and disappointment,” a second source told Us Weekly. “Emotions are definitely high.”
It was suggested that the distance between the Queen and her grandson and her family also caused the monarch to suffer.
“The queen makes FaceTime calls with Archie, but it’s not the same,” said the second source, also noting that she is “desperate to give Archie a big hug.”
Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan settled in California after stepping down as royalty. It has been a while since the Queen saw them in person with her son Archie.
It looks like she will be delighted to meet with them in the future.
