QB packers Aaron Rodgers may break one of his own NFL records at the end of the season

The record regular season for Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers will conclude on Sunday against the Chicago Bears at Soldier Field.

Rodgers, now the MVP favorite, is entering Week 17 with a chance to break one of his own NFL records.

Over the course of 15 games, Rodgers has 13 games with a passer rating of at least 100.0, breaking the NFL record he set in 2011. With another game over 100.0 against Bears on Sunday, he will establish the new brand.

Setting the record would represent an unprecedented run of consistency, efficiency and high-level play from the position of defender.

The only two Rodgers games with a passer rating below 100.0 were against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 6 (35.4) and Carolina Panthers in Week 15 (91.6).

Overall, Rodgers has nine games with a passer rating above 120.0, already the biggest in a season in NFL history. According to the team, he also set new NFL records for games with a pass rating of at least 100.0 and three or more touchdown passes (11) and games with a pass rating of at least 120.0 and four or more touchdown passes (six).

Rodgers’ overall passer rank in 2020 is 119.4, currently the third best mark of all time, behind him in 2011 (122.5) and Peyton Manning in 2004 (121.1).

Rodgers completed the season’s record of 84.0% of his passes during Sunday night’s victory over the Tennessee Titans. He launched four more touchdown passes, giving him 44 NFL highlights for the season. His best career for touchdown passes in one season is 45.

With a 70.3 completion percentage coming in on Sunday, Rodgers has a chance to become just the second quarterback in NFL history to finish a season with 40 or more touchdown passes and a completion percentage above 70.0 ( Drew Brees, 2011).
