QB Kyler Murray says he will play a must-see game for the Arizona Cardinals

TEMPE, Arizona – Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray will play in the winning season finale or return home against the Los Angeles Rams, he said on Wednesday.

Murray suffered a leg injury late last week’s loss to the San Francisco 49ers, calling into question his status for Sunday’s game.

Earlier this week, coach Kliff Kingsbury was “hopeful” that Murray would play. The sophomore quarterback put any doubts to rest during his weekly conference call with reporters.

“Yes, I will be playing,” said Murray.

In his first comments since the injury, Murray said he was “feeling good” and was hit at the “right spot” in the right leg by 49ers striker Alex Barrett.

If the Cardinals win the Rams, they will make the playoffs for the first time since 2015, when they went to the NFC Championship Game. If they lose, the Cardinals will end their season 8-8.

This is the first game to win or go home in Murray’s short NFL career, prompting the rookie of the year to say “the game is different”.

“There is no turning back,” said Murray. “We lost, I’ll be home, relaxing. My leg, I’m fine.”
